About Thiru Vignarajah
Thiru Vignarajah has served as Capital Plus Financial’s chief executive officer since 2021. Mr. Vignarajah was previously a partner at DLA Piper in Baltimore and also served as deputy attorney general of Maryland. The son of Baltimore city school teachers and a product of public schools himself, Mr. Vignarajah studied at Yale University and Harvard Law School, where he was president of the Harvard Law Review. He clerked for Judge Guido Calabresi on the second circuit and Justice Stephen Breyer on the United States Supreme Court. He then served as a federal and city prosecutor in Baltimore. When he was named deputy attorney general, Baltimore’s police commissioner called him a “once-in-a-generation lawyer and leader.” Mr. Vignarajah has also taught constitutional law and crime policy at Johns Hopkins University and the University of Maryland Law School, where he has repeatedly received the award for outstanding professor of the year.
